CSP carotid sinus pressure, AP arterial pressure, SNA sympathetic nerve activity. Angiotensin II moves the operating point from point ‘a’ to point ‘b’. If we observe the change in the operating point alone under baroreflex closed-loop conditions, angiotensin II increases AP but does not reduce SNA, which would lead to an interpretation that angiotensin II blunts the arterial baroreflex function.
