The relationship between ABCG1 expression and ER stress-related molecules GRP78 and CHOP. Downregulation of ABCG1 by siRNA increased the protein expression of GRP78 (a) and CHOP (b), which is similar to the effect of tunicamycin, a representative ER stress inducer. Increased expression of GRP78 and CHOP were reversed by restoration of ABCG1 expression using ABCG1 overexpression plasmid. Expression of GRP78 and CHOP were decreased in ABCG1-deficient EC treated with PBA, an ER stress inhibitor.
