PI3K inhibitor partially blocked the heat stimulation-induced muscle glucose uptake in vitro. Isolated extensor digitorum longus (EDL) muscles of rats weighing ~60 g were incubated with 2-deoxyglucose (2DG) for 10 min at either 36 or 42 °C in the presence or absence of 10 mU/ml insulin (a). Isolated EDL muscles were pre-incubated without 2DG for 30 min at 36 °C either with or without 100 nM wortmannin or 10 μM LY294002, and then were incubated with 2DG for 10 min at 42 °C.
