The profiles were obtained by Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) analysis of the EEG signals (see Methods). Left: The two profiles are superimposed, and the four frequency bands that we focused on in the present study are shown. The four frequency bands are as follows: 4–8 Hz (theta), 8–12 Hz (alpha), 12–16 Hz (low beta), and 16–23 Hz (beta).
