  1. Total RNA was extracted from the soleus muscle of mice treated with VL or sham surgery after exposure to 1 or 2 g for 2 and 8 weeks. Then, the level of insulin-like growth factor-1 (IGF-1), fibroblast growth factor 2 (FGF2), transforming growth factor-β1 (TGF-β1), myostatin (MSTN), activin A (Act A), follistatin (FST), fibronectin type III domain-containing 5 (FNDC5), interleukin-6 (IL-6), osteoglycin (OGN), family with sequence similarity 5, member C (FAM5C) or glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase (GAPDH) was assessed by real-time PCR analysis. Data are expressed relative to the levels of GAPDH. The data represent the mean ± SEM of 6 (2 weeks) and 4 (8 weeks) tissues in each group.
