OGR1 and ASIC1a regulate intestinal passive Mg2+ transport. In this prior of passive Mg2+ transport studies, Caco-2 monolayers were pre-incubated with 30 nM PcTx1, 10 μM RR, 10 μM Cu2+, 10 μM Zn2+, 1:10 or 1:100 OGR1 Ab, 100 °C-heated OGR1 Ab, or 100 °C-heated 30 nM PcTx1 before being exposed to apical bathing solution at pH 7.4 (a), 7.0 (b), 6.5 (c), 6.0 (d) or 5.5 (e). The passive Mg2+ transport was also studied in Caco-2 monolayers pre-incubated with 1 or 10 μM AMT (f). *P < 0.05, **P < 0.01, ***P < 0.001 compared with the corresponding control group. (n = 6)
