After spinal cord injury (n = 20), injured (ipsilateral, ipsil) and uninjured (contralateral, contra) sides of hindpaws showed significant decreases of paw withdrawal thresholds in response to von Frey filaments stimuli compared to sham controls (n = 10). However, the side-by-side comparison did not reveal any significant difference.
